See the water tower?

We've spent some time out at this park, due to tball season; it's called Snedigar, and occupies part of what used to be farmland - see the old water tower in the background? I like this big old tree that sits on field C.

Chandler Fashion Square

Chandler has a nice mall called the Chandler Fashion Square; it's an indoor mall, but this is the courtyard right outside, by the movie theater and several restaurants; my boys enjoy this fountain, which is timed to do different things

Mickey Mouse saguaro

We were out geocaching in the desert for the last time until late fall, when it will cool down again; there is a geocache hidden by this cactus - doesn't it look like Mickey Mouse?

I loved that this fence rental company is Susie's - such a feminine name for being in a man's world

Welcome to farmland

The park at Tumbleweed in Chandler has a farm theme, paying respect to the many farms that used to be Chandler. Here's a sign with a picture outside the playground from 1951 as a farmer worked his field

Old cave

This old mining cave is on the property we were camping on; it's pretty spooky, but we had fun taking the kids snipe hunting in the cave after dark - never did catch one, though

Arching trees

Here's another shot of the big trees at the campsite we were at; I think that's my husband's beer in the far corner, because it's right beside his hat - he was probably spinning the kids in the tire swings behind me when I took this

Pretty little campsite

Here was our campsite on our trip up to the high desert, near Mayer - it's actually private property, owned by our friend's Aunt and Uncle; it's hard to find a nice canopy of trees to camp under in Arizona - you have to go up to the pines usually

four-wheelin

To get to the house in yesterday's photo, you needed one of these toys - we spent the day four wheeling through the high desert in back of Mayer, on up into the mountains where this photo was taken - bumpy and dusty, but fun
