A closer look

Another look at the Casa Grande Ruins from yesterday's photo - inside, there are carvings of people's names from the 1800's and early 1900's, as it wasn't actually protected as a monument until the early 1900's. The roof that stands over it was built in the 1930s

My three favorite daily photos for today are:

Portland, Oregon

Nelson, New Zealand

Nashville, Tennesee

I am glad you posted the close up. It is a real treasure you have captured. The roof is an interesting addition. It sort of matches, but obviously clashes.

As a former archaeologist, I have always wanted to make it down to the Casa Grand Ruins, but for some reason I just havent yet. I hope you had a good time and learned a little bit about the culture that existed here before us.
