This sign, marking the entrance to the town of Apache Junction, pays tribute to the Lost Dutchman, who's fortune is rumored to be hidden somewhere in the Superstition Mountains; no one has found the treasure, but many have met unfortunate events trying to find it....

I always read 'lost dutchman', but wasn't it the mine that was lost, not the dutchman who died in Phoenix?
