We've got a heat advisory today, it's going to get up to about 114 F - youch - the AC will be cranking! This tree is in our little neighborhood park, which I'm sure will be empty today

We went camping this past weekend, so in honor of it, I'm posting a pic from our previous camping trip - this cool tree fort kept the kids busy for awhile - a friend of ours was nice enough to get it started for the kiddies

Arizona DP Theme Day - Arizona's Hidden Treasures

I almost let the theme day for the Arizona daily photo blogs slip by - the theme for this month is Arizona's Hidden Treasures, so I chose one from a road trip we did last summer, when we visited Canyon de Chelly - as you can see, it is very impressive, much like the Grand Canyon - but, much more off the beaten path and much less touristy

Fire damage

There was an awful fire a few years ago on Mount Lemmon, wiping out a lot of cabins and most of the town of Summerhaven - here is a shot through some of the damaged trees; it is still very pretty up there, and the town is slowly coming back

This was taken at the top of Mount Lemmon, right outside of Ski Valley; Mount Lemmon is near Tucson, and the only town was badly damaged by fire a few years back; it looks like it's trying to come back, though
