Chandler is playful
This sign, outside of Tumbleweed park in Chandler, announces that we are a Playful City - I had to google this to find out exactly why - turns out, this is a national recognition program honoring cities and towns that "take action for play". The award is given out by a non-profit called KaBoom!, which encourages communities to build playgrounds -

Orange season
Now through March, the oranges and citrus are ripe and ready to be picked around here - we did a charity picking today, since most homeowners grow way more than they need, and donate to a local food bank; the kids loved it

Look Mom, I'm an artist
These were the words of my 3-year old as he expertly added paint to this little house at the Children's Museum - you can see how many coats of paint the house already has - they just keep switching colors, and it's a neverending project!

Shooting scarves
Another new exhibit at the Children's Museum is this giant wall of tubes, which suck scarves and balls through all the zigzags, and shoot them out into the air - you can see several scarves making their way through in this pic - fun!

Phoenix Children's Museum
We have a brand new Children's Museum, in downtown Phoenix - it's in an old school building; the kids LOVED it, and I did too - lots to do, and very creative activities; here is the bottom floor, with a three story CD hanging in the background, which caught the light from the windows

Is it, or isn't it?
I know, I know, orbs in photos are caused by dust, yadda, yadda, yadda
But -
Check out how this "orb" is sitting right in front of my child's face, like they are having a little conversation! Gives you pause, doesn't it?
This is inside the Great Arizona Puppet Theatre, which is in Central Phoenix in an old renovated church - very pretty!

The puppet show
This past weekend, the kids and I checked out a puppet show at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater - it was great, and I love that it is in an old (old for Arizona) church, built in 1929; the presentation was Goldilocks
