If you look closely, you'll see a group of people in the middle of the desert - they were all watching the hawk above them, in a birds of prey show at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum

Arizona DP Theme Day - Sunsets

The Daily Photo blogs in Arizona have decided to do an Arizona theme day on the 15th of every month - for this month, the theme is sunsets - I caught this sunset during soccer practice at Snedigar park in Chandler; I didn't enhance the colors for this pic - it looked exactly like this

In the front of the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, you will notice the American flag flying alongside the Mexican flag, with the Arizona state flag underneath - I believe this is because the museum is a partnership between the two countries, as the Sonoran desert really stretches through both countries and the efforts at conservation are on both ends

The coyote exhibit at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum looks like it's just part of the desert; one way they camoflauge it is to use saguaro skeletons to hide the fence posts

coyote... and a weird saguaro

They have some great animal exhibits at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum; here is the coyote exhibit - can you see him? If you click to enlarge the picture, you can probably see the wire fencing they use, otherwise it looks like they are just roaming around wild; I also like the saguaro in the background with the mysterious missing top

Yesterday, we went to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum down by Tucson - it was a beautiful day, and it's a really beautiful outdoors museum, with great animal exhibits; I'll post some of my shots over the next week

We went to a Childsplay production again, held at the Tempe Center for the Arts - we saw Busytown, which was a hit with the kids - this picture was taken from inside, looking out at the reflective pool and beyond to Tempe Town Lake

Daily Photo Theme Day - Paths and Passages

It's the first of the month, which means another theme day on Daily Photo - for this month's theme, I picked a labyrinth that is in the empty lot beside the Chandler Presbyterian Church - it is owned by the church, but I never see it being used - it looks peaceful, though
