Phoenix Children's Museum
We have a brand new Children's Museum, in downtown Phoenix - it's in an old school building; the kids LOVED it, and I did too - lots to do, and very creative activities; here is the bottom floor, with a three story CD hanging in the background, which caught the light from the windows

Canyon de Chelly
Here's the last shot I'll share from our roadtrip; we made a stop at the Canyon de Chelly, just outside of Chinle on the Navajo Reservation - incredible place, worth the trip - I'd love to go down inside it, but you need to pay a tribal guide to do it, and we just didn't have the time;

Navajo land
We stopped at the Hubbell Trading Post in Ganado on the Navojo Reservation; the trading post is the oldest continuously operating post on the reservation; as soon as we arrived, two Navajo boys raced in on their horses and went inside to purchase lunch, I suppose - I wasn't quick enough with my camera to catch them coming in our leaving - they were pretty fast and I was pretty loaded down with kids and stuff; so, this is the best shot I got - notice there are no saddles. The boys rode them effortlessly - it was fun to watch

Jasper Forest
The Petrified Forest looks a lot like you'd expect the moon to look; unfortunately, a lot of petrified wood has been lost to people taking souvenirs. But, there's still quite a bit to see - this part is known as the Jasper Forest

Petrified Forest entrance
On our way to Colorado, we drove through the Petrified Forest, which is just outside of Holbrook; these flags are right outside of one of the gift shops right before you enter the park - it was windy and I thought they looked pretty against the clear blue sky

Centipede!
My husband and son were turning over rocks to see what they could find while we stopped for a leg stretch, right outside of Payson; they found this centipede - at least, I think it's a centipede - easy to overlook, as you can see

Good to be home
Here's a ragtag front yard garden, with the poor sunflowers just trying to get through another hot day! We are coming home from our vacation today - it's always good to be home!

In case you ever wondered, here is what the playground at Snedigar park looks like - my 5-year old took the pic

Arizona Diamondback's stadium
It used to be called the Bank One Ballpark, or BOB for short, but is now Chase stadium, and it houses the Arizona Diamondbacks; the coolest thing about the stadium is the retractable roof - it's open for this shot to give the grass some sun, but they can close it up when it's just too dang hot out for the fans
We took this picture from the TGIF restaurant, which is in the ballpark and offers stadium views
vacation beckons!

Wall of hands
If you purchase a certain level of membership at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater, you get to place your hand on the famous (sort of) wall of hands - aren't they colorful?
off on vaca, back soon!

Great AZ puppet Theater
Here is the building that now houses the Great Arizona Puppet Theater; it was a church, and they try to maintain it's original structure
