Waiting for our turn

More on our drive this weekend, this is waiting for our turn to cross the one-lane bridge across Canyon Lake

I have to take some more pictures, so for now I'm relying on some older ones; this was taken back in Nov at Canyon Lake, when the lake level was lowered so they could work on the dam; if you look closely, you can see the whiteish line on the mountain where the water level usually is; this is the marina, which they moved to another temporary spot while the water was down; it's just sitting out there lonely and abandoned, for now

I've posted quite a few pics from Canyon Lake, but you'll rarely see the lake like this, with the levels so low; as I've mentioned, they are working on the dam and have lowered the lake levels a lot - makes for interesting pictures

Another use for Christmas trees

We took a trip back out to Canyon Lake - the water level is still very low since they are working on the dam, but we noticed they've set up some Christmas trees to provide structure for fish to hind under once the level is back up - makes for some good fishing, hopefully

Back to bridges

One last bridge photo that I forgot to post - this one is also at Canyon Lake; you may notice that there is no water under the bridge! That's because they are working on the dam and lowered the water level dramatically - we took lots of pics so my husband can see where the good fishing spots will be once the water is back

DP Theme Day - Bridge

On the first of every month, the Daily Photo community has a theme day, and December's theme is bridges. This bridge is at Canyon Lake, which is just southeast of Phoenix. It's a one-lane bridge, so you have to practice your courtesy and patience when you come up to it.

Back to the lake

One more picture from our trip to Canyon Lake, this of the lake bottom - pretty cool, really - this part was still a little wet right below the surface, so you felt a little like you were sinking, but it's been so hot that the surface was very dry and cracked

Canyon Lake

Today we drove out to Canyon Lake, which is past Apache Junction southeast of Phoenix. They are working on the dam, so the lake is way down - in this picture, you can see the level it is usually at by where the plant life starts along the mountain. It's a really pretty lake, especially if you love the desert - pretty drive, too
